I guess I'd think a place that's conservative for New England, wealthy, and very white. (I don't know if they are wealthy just that I had that image)

This is a state-specific question and doesn't belong in the General U.S. room. Moving to the NH room.

Before moving to NH I thought of:

White Mountains
Lake Winnipissaukee
Picturesque New England Towns

After moving here I think of:
White Mountains
Lake Winnipissaukee & Other Lakes
Picturesque New England Towns
Smart People (NH seems to be fairly well educated compared to many places I've been)
The Ocean (never thought of NH as being on the ocean before moving here...its great!)

While I understand the sentiment, actually I disagree. When you live in NH it will conjure up very different images than someone who doesn't. If someone vacations there, or hasn't even been there but maybe seen pics (or just thinks they have a clue), they will give a very different answer. Actually I think it's fascinating to read what people who AREN'T from/in NH think the state is like.
