Default Seacoast Area Hospitals

Hi everyone. I am new to NH, just moved up to Dover in January, and have been looking for a good hospital and new OB (I am having a baby sometime next January). So far I have been looking at Wentworth Douglass, Exeter, Portsmouth, and York. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If I were new to the area and expecting, I would contact each hospital and talk with someone who can give you an accurate figure of the # of births per year at the hospital as well as the c-section rate. Also ask the same statistics of individual ob's. Good luck!

Welcome to Dover it's a gorgeous town. - I had my daughter at Frisbee in Rochester - both of my sisters had their kids in Dover - I have heard no bad things about either them or York. I personally would not go to Portsmouth. I'd also like to be close to where I'm spending most of my time in case of quick deliveries (I delivered VERY FAST). So my personal recommendation is Dover Wentworth Douglas. As far as OB/GYN's I went to the practice up on the hill behind the hospital or across the street (my memory fades on the names - sorry).

Default Thanks

Sounds good, thanks for all the tips. It's hard picking a hospital without anything to go on but the stats. I will probably go with Wentworth or Exeter. Thank you so much.
