Default Chester,NH

I am wondering about wet, damp basements in Chester. I looked at a house that I would love to purchase but the basement was wet and damp. It did have a sump pump that had stopped working. My question is: In general, Is there a wet basement problem in Chester? Does it depend on the location of the home? What about mold growing? I know there are solutions for the problem but if mold has started can it be irradicated? Any info will be helpful. Thank you

wet basements indicate a problem and not with Chester, chuckle.

good rule of thumb - if the basement is wet - don't buy it.

even better rule of thumb - if the basement needs a sump pump, don't buy it.

with so many houses on the market, you can do better. Good luck with Chester. Other than being out of the way a little, it's a nice town.
