We live in Merrimack and one of the reasons we originally chose Merrimack is that it is very youth-oriented. There's a lot there for the kids, from the MYA (Merrimack Youth Association) with its sports programs to Kids Cove (the kids gym-playground - great fun!), the special programs, the festivals, parades and celebrations. There's a YMCA facility with summer camps, and special summer programs at a lakeside park. It's a good, safe, convenient town, near the major routes for easy commute no matter which direction you need to go.

We live in the town of Boscawen. It is a great place to raise kids. It is a quiet, peaceful town just norht of Concord. The taxes are low. We pay about $8,000 a year. The schools are okay. I have a special needs child so I dont think they are great when it comes to special needs kids but other than that, the schools are terrific.

I grew up in Keene, and while property taxes are a little on the high side it's a great town to grow up in. The schools are some of the best in the area, it's about a 20 minute drive from I-91, and there are a lot of clubs and activities your family can get involved in. Plus, Keene State College is right in town.

Merrimack is, indeed one of the nicest towns. Close to everything, yet not congested. Lots of open space, parks & recreation. Very youth program oriented. There are two nice lakes - Naticook (with a Y summer camp) and Baboosic (a beautiful lake, but no public access). There's a nice subdivision on Baboosic lake that has a lovely private beach, tennis, kids play area, etc. for the residents. Merrimack is a nice, quiet town to raise children.

Good luck to you. May you find a place your heart can call home.
