Lobster
My wife and I just moved to Nashua from Pittsburgh, PA, and were looking for a good lobster\seafood place, nothing fancy by any means we are fine sitting at a picnic table and rolling up our sleeves with a couple of beers. Looking for anywhere around souther NH or by the ocean if its worth it, we will make the drive.
Any help is appreciated, thanks!!

I don't know about Nashua but if you're on the coast hit up Petey's or Browns.

Actually, we just buy lobster at Market Basket supermarkets when the price drops. They will steam them in the store for no additional charge and lately that is what we have been doing. Who wants to heat up a big pot of water in you kitchen when it is hot enough inside?
Seriously, we haven't ordered lobster in a restaurant in years. I would be interested in knowing a good seafood restaurant in Nashua too. Since Newick's closed in Merrimack we have only been to the Nashua Weathervane Restaurant and have had undercooked seafood twice. Their portions don't leave much for take home either.

By the way, the big Market Basket on Amherst St. ( in the shopping center with Sears) is near big hotels by Exit 8 of the Everett Tpke and airline crew from Manchester airport are usually put up there. They like to order steamed lobster and the counter people will crack it with a mallet for them so they take it back to their hotel room and eat while relaxing.

If you don't want to heat up your own kitchen... you could go to the Lobster Boat in Merrimack (I think it's Merrimack). Not fancy, but everyone always says their seafood is great - their chicken certainly is.

Last week, soft-shell lobsters were 3.99/lb at Market Basket. If you're queasy on boiling it (or it's too hot to) cook it at home, head for Route 286 in Seabrook ("the line") and pull in to the right at Markey's or to the left at Browns. Lobster, steamers and fried goodies too.
If you go to Browns, they have a great BYOB (or wine, but no hard liquor) policy. It's sort of fun to bring along a checkered tablecloth and a candle for the table A chilled bottle of wine or couple of cold Sam Adams while eating lobster? Doesn't get much better-n that!
Go on a Wednesday for dinner, then head to Hampton Beach for the fireworks around 9 PM.

The Lobster Shack in Cape Elizabeth, ME is pretty amazing (stellar location). Not the cheapest though $18.95 is their current price for a 1 1/4 lobster dinner; but its right on a cliff over the ocean (picnic tables) with 2 lighthouses in the background. Also convenient to Two Lights State Park (nice walk) and Portland Head Light nearby.
Not that close to Nashua, but a good day-trip.
The lines can get VERY long on a busy day.

I'll second that! Not at all close, but a movie-worthy setting.
