Default New London - Cell Coverage and Vets/Kennels

So we're in the midst of buying a house and moving to New London at the end of Sept. Finally! Two issues I could use help with:

During the home inspection last week, my spouse noticed that he had no coverage with his ATT phone while standing in our new house. Neither did the realtor (Verizon) or the inspector (US Cellular). Does either Sprint or T-Mobile work in New London, and were these flukes with the other 3 carriers? I'm getting anxious that I won't have cell coverage in the new house and we aren't planning to get a landline! We both use ATT now but are willing to change.

Second, we have a dog and are looking for a good vet in or very near New London, preferrably with after-office emergency hours at the same location. And we're looking for a good kennel, too. She's never been in a real kennel -- we've always boarded her at the vets so she could be around humans (whom she loves) and not dogs (whom she doesn't).

Any help appreciated, as always!

Default I live in New London

I've tried Verizon, AT&T and US Cellular in the ten years I've been here. I have some hills around me so it's not a great place for cell coverage, but they have all worked at my house. We found AT&T dropped too many calls along I-89 between New London and Lebanon. Verizon was better, (It's CDMA, AT&T is GSM) but still dropped calls sometimes along that same stretch. We now have US Cellular (also CDMA, so they share with Verizon towers) and it's the best of all. Works everywhere we need to be, except NE Vermont, and is rock solid throughout New London. Cheaper than Verizon too.

Default Anyone else?

Thanks, Mark. One of the people in our house-to-be was using US Cellular and didn't have any coverage, so maybe our house-to-be is just a dead zone. That would be a bummer. I don't care about coverage on I89, just at home in New London

I'd love more responses to this question and the question of a vet. Thanks.

If you want to P-Mail your new address, I'll drop by and try my cell phone there, just in case that previous test was an aberration. I don't know of a spot in New London where US Cellular doesn't work well.
