Default Things for small children to do in New London area?

Anyone out there with kids in the New London area? Our daughter will be around five by the time we actually move, I know there are tons of outdoor things to do, which is one of the reasons we are moving up there, but anyone have any suggestions about other ways of occupying little ones?
