First choice: Harts Location. Lowest taxes, gorgeous views, and truly in the (rugged) heart of the White Mts.
Last choice: Berlin. Kind of depressing, bad vibes.

First choice to live is Portsmouth waterfront. I can walk to stores and places to eat and shop with my dog. Yoga places just so nice! Last place to live is Colebrook The people are not right up there....there is truly something wrong up there. There have been to many strange things that happen there and I get bad vibes when I go there

First place...a traditional house on a few acres in Rye or a farm in the Stratham/Brentwood Area
There really aren't any bad places to live in NH! No sales tax, no income tax, lots of liberties statewide.. but I guess Berlin would be the last choice because it's practically in Canada and has little economy.

Berlin is the only place i have ever been in nh where i could not see myself living. We are moving from exeter to nottingham and could not be happier. Good community, good schools and low taxes. Not that there is anything wrong with exeter, just a time in our lives that calls for the country.

I'd go close to the seacoast maybe Rye. I wouldn't go to Berlin, sorry, too much crime and way too many fires.

A place right near the ocean or a place by Winnipesaukee. A cape cod log cabin in the woods in Franconia would also be nice.

NH is a unique state. When I was a child I spent summers with my aunt and uncle in Nashua. Rte 3 now runs through where that garden grew. At that time Nashua, Hollis and Amherst were very desirable places to live. Today Hollis and Amherst still remain desirable places to live. In addition, towns like Hopkinton and Canterbury have retained that small town flavor. Canterbury has managed to hold onto that NH town mentality. Just about anywhere in central NH is a good bet. Little towns like Bridgewater still maintain that real NH life. Franklin is changing. There was a time when it was heavy with drugs but it is definitely changing with new people moving in. Not too many bad places in NH. Unfortunately high property taxes deter people.

I'm from Florida and would never go back. I'm in Va and would love to live in NH. I've been there many times and would love to retire there.
