Northern NH Wedding Venues
Looking for a NH wedding venue that allows us to bring our own caterer- or the cost below $35 per person.
There are a few that are considerations for us, but perhaps aren't "pretty enough" or are too far away- such as toward the seacoast or concord.
Looking in the North Conway/Gorham/Meredith area.
I have contacted the Waukewan Golf Club, Town and Country Inn (the room I want is not available)..
Are there any Conservation Centers that allow functions? (Other than Tin Mountain Conservation Center). The problem with this is, we have to provide our own alcohol which is fine other than we do not know how we will keep it cold.
We want to keep the reception as far under $5000 as possible, including any rentals and food for about 100 people. (Not including photographer and such) Tough task.... We have to travel up there from our new home state so we need to be frugal!
Thanks!

How to keep alcohol cold: Place keg 'oh beer in trash can or other similar sized container. Surround with ice. It's not the classiest looking thing but if you have it behind a bar it should be fine.
Or just get some of those aluminum tubs and lot of ice and keep the wine, liquor, etc. in those.
I know you said the seacoast was too far but Rye Harbor state is cheap and open to whatever you want. I got married there, had it catered, supplied our own booze, etc. Pretty great view.
Have you checked Castle in the Clouds?

other cooler ideas I've seen used - but probably best outside: a rowboat filled with ice and all the drinks kept in it, a small wading pool filled with ice.

Castle in the Clouds was spectacular -- was there a little over a week ago. They were setting up for a wedding ceremony at the rear of the house overlooking the view. *sigh* I wish I could have a do-over and have my wedding there!

Don't know if these would fall in your budget or not, but you could try the restaurant at Cranmore Ski Resort in North Conway New Hampshire Skiing - Cranmore Mountain Resort - Resort Statistics and Facts, the Red Fox in Jackson, or King Pine in Madison About King Pine Ski Area and Purity Spring Resort-Lakes Region and Mt Washington Valley Lodging, near North Conway NH.. We had a bbq at the Red Jacket in North Conway and it was pretty affordable (but that was a while ago): Best Western Red Jacket Mountain View Resort & Conference Center, North Conway New Hampshire
Squam Lake Science Center allows functions, but they have to be under 20 people and the cost is $40/pp... gorgeous spot though. http://www.nhnature.org/birthday_parties.html
You might try contacting the Remick Museum in Tamworth to see if they'd allow a private party. It's a BEAUTIFUL spot with tons of land and they host a lot of festivals with food, so they must have a kitchen. They definitely have tables and chairs. Remick Country Doctor Museum Contact
