In conclusion, I still have more research to do. But so far I’m wary of moving to New Hampshire.
Consider Vermont.

This is not difficult. People make noise. If you move to an area with few people you are less likely to hear said noise. If you live in a place with lots of people (like Vegas for example) you will plenty of noise..be it bikes, kids, trains, etc. This is not an earth shattering concept and it's certainly not unique to NH, or NV.

NH is relatively sparsely populated outside of a few specific areas. It's very wooded. If it's such an issue for you move somewhere in the woods and away from people. You won't have an issue finding that in NH and you don't have to remove yourself too far from the "crowded" areas. Simple?

P.S. that would work in the Nevada desert as well, or any other state.....i.e moving away from the people.

I love driving around there, I"m so happy we've got our home & land in Monadnock area (will probably say different things in winter once we move up, but....), It's a nice relaxing area. Then we can go up and drive the Kanc for occasional change.

lol!Personally, that's not something I ever check, Dave! Even as a massage therapist it's none of my business.

Ah but it's not quite that simple is it? Laconia has less than 20k people. Epping, less than 6k. Large towns can be very quiet with high class people. And small towns with a bunch of lowlifes can be quite loud.

Hence the need for research and discussion.

Class snob? Try Massachusetts, you will fit right in. You will also be taxed and regulated to near death. Meanwhile businesses seeking profitability
go else where, furthering your tax burden. Sad thing is Mass is a beautiful State, even sadder the forerunner of freedom in this country. How sad for such a noble State.

That is even more sadly what some people desire to do to this State. Like the idiots who move next to a 200 yr old farm and then expect the owner of the farm to change his operation for them.

This is something I wrote in a bike forum

.................................................. ....

They still don't like us folks.
Us being bikers and them being not bikers.
Despite the prime time media exposure, the Celebrity endorsement
the $75,000 bikes. They still hold to their stereotypes and frankly
we have helped them in some ways.

They may cheer us on as we ride in a charity run, may think to themselves well at
least "THOSE" bikers are doing something nice. Riding individually however we are
just another leather clad hood, are rice burning scum, dependent on your ride.

No not everyone of course, some see us as more but some cannot get past initial
impressions. Bikers being the independent sort that they are bristle at the notion
of being judged. (strange considering that they also judge on looks.)

Anyway, We can improve our image without compromising our freedom. We can stand
for exhaust modification, yet be responsible with that freedom ( Can't we? )

Unless you a running a very cammed bike there simply is no need to be revving your bike at a stop light now is there?

We know when we do things like burnouts, on a public road we are risking not only our lives but someone else's too right? You really want to leave a 3 yr old fatherless because of your stupidity?

Feel free to add your own. Yeah I like a great smoke show too, in the proper place for one. Or at the very least find yourself a lonely straight stretch of road away from houses, and hey let er rip. You'll either be a hero or we'll read about you in the paper ( maybe )

What can the non bikers do in return?

Well for starters you can

SEE US DAMNIT!

or you can

SEE US DAMNIT!

If I try not to go screaming past you, could you try not cutting out in front of me? I mean , trust me I already have an out planned, but why make me ?

DON'T CROWD MY SPACE! I own as much of that vehicle space as you do.

NOT SO CLOSE I HARDLY EVEN KNOW YOU!

This goes for bikes too by the way. I have not exchanged phone numbers with you, you did not buy me dinner ( yes guys can be had for a hot meal too ) so..stay off my ASS you ASS! You are not scaring me nearly as much as you are pissing me off, one of us will get hurt, maybe even you.

Things probably won't change because I wrote this, cagers and bikers will still disrespect each other, people will still drive/ride with their brains disengaged and their ego in overdrive, but at least it felt good writing it.

I am never for stupidity or being obnoxious, apart from saving my skin, then I can be. I am for limited regulation, regulation is control.I am also for accountability. If you are revving your bike and being an all around ******* you deserve to be fined to the hilt. If your pipes are within the lawful limit and your are using them responsibly you should be left alone.

Like everything else there is over zealousness on both sides of the issue.

Can't we just all get along?

We don't need to write more laws, just enforce the ones we already have. Living on Cape Cod with our older population I see the need for loud pipes, but some take it to an extreme. Now don't get me wrong, I love loud. Loudon, Epping and Lee this past weekend, been there enjoyed them all. A nice ride on a powerful snowmachine on a great groomed trail, nothing better. The problem is I chose to go to those events in a controlled or set area. Excessively loud pipes ruin it for all the enjoyment minded riders. I have friends with very loud bikes and by their own admission they can't hear themselves think at the end of the ride, boy that sounds like fun. When they get to the barbeque and can't hear anything because their ears are ringing, fun. When we are sitting at the beach and my kids have to cover their ears because the bike going by 500 feet away is so loud it hurts, no need. They seem to feel the need to keep the bikes wide open for as long as possible, is that for safety. The loud pipes saves lives thing is getting old. I have a big block 4 speed and don't find any need to crank it up over 3000 rpm. It sounds like music to me and my family on our rides at 2-3000. There are bad apples in all groups, we just need to weed them out. Self policing is a great thing, no more laws.

I live on the Cape, but my heart is in NH. Can't wait to move even with all the "NOISE".

Can't we just all get along, play nice.

I think we can agree that it's the Loud Pipes Save Lives so that gives me a right to be obnoxious group is the one we all have a problem with.

Okay....first, dont live IN town, any town, and your problem is solved. Second....don't freaking move to a town with a racetrack or bike week....Don't move to a touristy area either. This really is common sense, not rocket science.
