Anyone have any thoughts on mosquitos in NH? We were all set on buying a house, but the mosquitos were everywhere as we stood outside at mid-day! I'm used to mosquitos at night, fine, but all day long!?

Is this unusual?

LOL I lived in NH for 8 years, Lake Sunapee area and well we had mosquitos as soon as the snow melted thruout the summer. Spring is really bug season, don't forget the black flies. Yes they buzz all day and night. Some places are worse then others. I couldn't handle it, one of the reasons we moved. In Idaho now, but 2 years here and I am pinning for NH, bugs and all. I am just going to buy some netting if we can get back there.

Regarding black flies - do they act like little "kamakaze pilots"? We noticed it last year and again this year - we can be sitting inside and all is quiet, then all of a sudden it sounds like the house is being attacked from the outside with things hitting the screens! Last year someone told us they were June bugs, so I guess it could be them again this year, but I was wondering about the black flies, as well.....They hit the screens with such force they trigger our dog to go into a "I gotta protect my humans" mode!
