Just signed a lease in Newmarket
My husband and I got approved today for an apartment in Newmarket, right off 108/Main St. We are from Long Island and plan to move right after Christmas. We were originally looking in Dover but really liked the look of Newmarket. Can anyone recommend specific restaurants, bars, etc in the area? We have been to Portsmouth a lot and know of places there - but on our next visit up, we'd love to start exploring Newmarket and Exeter and would love some recommendations.
Thanks!

Good luck on your move. If you are leaving New York because of over bearing state and city governments, high crime, high taxes, and poor public education please don't move to NH and vote democrat

LOL! Give her a chance, Sarge.
Maybe she's a gun-toting, small government lover, like me. We're leaving that hellish state in droves.

The best pizza around can be found in downtown Dover at La Festa. Wheelie's is decent for some grab and go type food. Breaking New Grounds in Durham and Portsmouth has great coffee and tea. Franz in Durham is an excellent lunch stop. You just need to weed your way through the college crowd. Pauly's Pockets in Durham makes great gyros and falafals.
Also, don't forget to try some Squamscot Soda. It is made right down the street in Newfields. You can get it in most stores.

Thanks! We haven't tried La Festa yet - is it better than the downtown pizza pub in Portsmouth? We liked that a lot.
