We had very nice weather for the services in the State military cemetery in Boscowen, NH. The speeches were all attention getters and we heard from the Governor, Our two U.S. Senators and Cong. Paul Hodes as well as the State Adjutant General and others.
Flyovers of a medical Blackhawk helicopter and three F-15 Eagle jets were impressive.
Residents from the State Veteran's home were bussed in and they heard the Army NG band play and Boscowen school class sang two songs.
Afterwards kids came up to pet the six horses of the NH Governor's Horse Guards. All in all a very nice ceremony.

I would much prefer more money for our comrades that have never recovered from their service although a sincere ceremony does help. I did my time. I saved a few and lost a lot more. This is a time when they all march through my memory.

Thanks to you all for caring. Few bother these days.

An unusual story was on the radio yesterday. It seems a few lads were mugging a man (no, I don't recall where this happened). They had his wallet and were going through it, and found a Veteran's Assoc card in it. They put back everything they had taken out, returned the wallet, apologized and thanked him for his service, and left! of course they went on and mugged someone else later, so it's not like it changed their plans terribly, but.... interesting.
