I'm writing about bakeries, especially those that have a real local following. If you have a favorite, please share it!

Thanks so much,

Old Village Bakery in North Conway makes really good cakes - chocolate with vanilla frosting is delicious - and really good breads. They don't decorate the cakes, they are just all-American, from scratch, yummy cakes.

The Good Loaf in Milford makes delicious, European style breads in an almost infinite variety. They are expensive ($6/loaf) but don't even compare with the breads sold at groceries and other local bakeries.

Le- Rendevous here in Colebrook has received national recognition. It has great French pastries and bread to die for. Almond croissants are my favorite.

If that is the bakery on main street, it is excellent!
