Your kidding right. You could be working tomorrow. There is a server shortage of LPNs up here. What town are you looking into? If I know that I can get you better info on housing as well. Start with the area besides up north. Up north is a very broad area to cover. Are you talking Pittsburg, Berlin, Littleton, Lancaster, Colebrook, Or the 50 towns in between. Or are you talking Lebanon area, or possibly Conway area. See what I mean Moore info on where.

Diane.....you are so lucky you have a nursing degree!!! There isn't much opportunity for employment up here (Colebrook - North) other than nursing, unless you want to wait tables, clean cabins, or other such "service positions" for minimum wage without a benefit package. Northern most town would be Pittsburg; talk about quiet peaceful exhistence!!!! One major store sells "just about everything".....groceries, coffee, gas, liquor, deli, gifts. Nursing opportunities from there would be about a half-hour drive. You can rent a 3 bdrm apt for approx $500 a month (Colebrook - North???). Check Colebrook's weekly newspaper (not enough happening for a daily paper) at colebrooknewsandsentinel.com.....wishing you good luck!!!

There are jobs aside from LPN's and min wage up here as well. But you have to have the skills to get them. Electricians, Plumbers, and most trades are very short handed. And if you know the woods and streams Guides make good money Out of staters pay good money, for that nice buck, or Trout from a clean stream.

I am a nurse(RN) in Florida and am interested in relocating to the mountains. I have lived in Southern Vt but it is just too expensive now. . Do you know what the average salaries are for nurses in N.H. I love North Conway from what I have seen and am heading back up in July. Are there opportunities for RNs as well as the LPN? Any info is appreciated.

the 2 I know make upwards of 22 a HR But it really depends on the type of nurse you are. RN covers alot. ER, Maternity etc... Makes a diffrence in pay. But I do know the hospital in Conway is looking for Nurses both LPN's and RN's.

My family lives in Berlin, NH and the hospital in town there is Androscoggin Valley Hospital. My sister is an RN and they are always hiring. With 15+ years behind her, she making $26/hr working in the ICU in a Lancaster hosital which is just a 30 minute drive from Berlin. When she worked at Androscoggin Valley Hospital, she was making around $22/hr. There are also 2 nursing homes in town that my sister-in-law works at. Nursing is always in demand in the town of Berlin.
One more thing. Anything north of Mt. Washington for decent sized towns are Berlin or Gorham. There are small secluded places north of there like Milan, Errol and Colebrook but as far as work related requirements, your best to stick around one of these bigger towns.
