Default Seacoast Sports leagues?

So I moved to Hampton a little over a month ago and have settled into everything great. My fiancee and I are starting to get a little bored though on the weekends being just us two. We're outgoing people but you don't exactly pick up friends at a bar. We're really looking to get out and meet some people similar to our age (both 25) and thought sports leagues would be a great option.

The only problem is I haven't found any. I play pretty serious tennis and have learned the lay of the land in the local tennis community ok but everyone is quite a bit older than us and she isn't really up to the caliber of play with these people so I kinda have to leave her behind.

We're both athletic and can play most anything. Anyone know if there are local softball leagues around that aren't already formed, or preferrably volleyball? Are there pickup games in Hampton Beach during the summers or it is all sunbathers?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I can at least speak for the outdoor volleyball....
I've been disappointed at not finding more organized outdoor beach volleyball leagues in NH beyond Hampton Beach's weekend tournament that they just started last summer for the first time, I believe. But pick-up games are pretty popular at Hampton Beach and once in a while next to the public lot at North Hampton Beach Park. Find someone w/ a net, or better yet, bring your own, and I'm sure you'll find plenty of willing participants.
If your willing to trek 30 minutes up to Long Sands Beach in York, ME, I believe there are scheduled games (but not leagues) in the late afternoon after the sunbathing crowds begin to disperse on Wednesdays, perhaps other days as well. I think there are times those spots are reserved for leagues, but I don't know for sure, nor whether residents beyond York are eligible. You will see two nets- usually late in the day set-up just to the south end of the public bath house on the boardwalk. Hope this helps. I've been DYING to get involved with a halfway serious/halfway fun beach volleyball league for several years now.

Do you ski in the winter? I had a friend back about 10 years ago who belonged to the Seacoast Ski Club (I think that is what it's called). I believe they have summer events as well (softball, etc.).

Well I guess you could say I WILL ski this coming winter. I moved from ohio and the "skiing" we had there was in southern michigan on old closed landfills (yes you read that correctly) as they are the highest points in the areas. It's not as bad as it sounds but it's definitely not that much fun either. I love skiing but it gets real boring real fast on those tiny hills. I'm definitely pumped for the skiing out here.

That said, winter is a long ways off and I want to find some ways to enjoy this summer and meet people. The stripers are almost here and I'll be pretty occupied fishing but my fiancee won't really appreciate it so I'm really looking for any group activities/leagues for people our age.
