Default Where to Relocate?????

I live on Cape Cod & I would like to get out of this over priced, dirty, over crowded area! I thought about NH. I need ideas on where to go. I am in my 50's, middle class & retired. I am fairly active, especially with my 5 dogs in Agility & other dog sports. My dogs love to swim, so water is a must, & I would prefer fresh water rather than the ocean. I love quiet, clean small towns where everyone knows each other & you can leave the door unlocked, even though I know that crime is everywhere. I would like a house between 300 & 400,000, with at least an acre or more, water like a pond or stream a plus! I don't want to be in the boonies either, just a small town. Any ideas????

Default Ideas

Lot's to look at, I would recomend some towns just west of the seacoast such as Nottingham, Epping, or closer to the major cities/towns but quaint little towns such as Francistown, Weare, New Boston..nice country and lakes/streams/rivers everywhere.

Kaylaann, you should check out these web sites: removed
These two sites have great search engines for locating housing based on area, price, lot size, bedrooms, etc. Once you find an area you are interested in, google the town(s) and find the real estate offices in the area. They will have more listings on their individual web sites. I have been doing extensive research since last fall and I can give you some pointers on different areas of interest if you like. There are tons of houses in that exact price range with water either on the property or nearby. It just depends on how far out you want to get. Some of the smaller towns have good real estate deals, but high taxes. I have found towns in the 4 to 7k population range to have the cheapest taxes. Towns in the 1 to 3k range have a tendancy to have higher taxes.
Another good site is the state gov site: www.nhes.state.nh.us/
Go to the bottom of the page and click on the site index. It will open up to a list; go down to economic & labor market info and click on ELMI FAQ's. On the left hand column open the drop down menu under fast find, and click on community profiles, pick the town you want and it opens a file with all the detailed info from that town. I use it all the time. Very valuable in determining the demographics of a particular town you may be interested in.
Hope it helps!!

Didn't think it would be an issue to list them. Sorry if I offended the forum Gods. No harm, no foul. Kaylaann, if you did not get them, just PM me and I will send you the links.

P.S.:I have no vested interest in any real estate companies located in New Hampshire or elsewhere. My listing those sites was purely for information only to help out a fellow forum user. I will refrain from doing it in the future.
Thank you, and my humble apologies.
