Depends on where you are starting. I live in Londonderry and use the Concord Trailways bus to Boston and back every day. Because I can I take the 5:03 Am in and the 3:45 back. This schedule results in a 11 plus hour day away from home.

Taking a later bus in either direction will result in much more time on the road. Driving yourself will cost more for parking in Boston than the bus fare. It will also be very, very tiring

If you commute from the Seacoast region, over by Exeter, Hampton, Dover, there's the commuter rail. Either Dover or Exeter train stations for the downeaster right in to North Station. If you live in Hampton, you have another option, and that's the Newburyport MBTA commuter rail. It's very convenient. ALSO C&J Trailways is very good. Either pick it up in Portsmouth OR Newburyport. Go to their site to see their fares and schedules:

C&J Trailways

Good luck. It's not that bad. It's worth it in the end, honest! The lifestyle change alone will do you a world of good. You'd love seacoast living if this is where you're thinking of moving to. It's just like you're on vacation all year round as soon as you get over the border AND also in the door of your home! It's an experience only you can decide to have and one day it just hits you! It took me a while to "get it" but I finally did and now I won't live any where else (right now!). YES, the commute in to Boston is the pits and it always was, but always remember that an average commute for people around the US is an hour and just under 50 miles ONE way. I went through several cars in my career in downtown Boston's Financial district, but those days are over since taking an early retirement, it's been AWESOME NOT having to do that any more, I paid MY dues! But for you? You have WAY more options than I did when I had to do this little "jaunt". I didn't have Newburyport, Exeter or Dover train stations; you have these options now and they're WONDERFUL, let me tell you. I use Newburyport whenever I go in to Boston's North End for dinner and it's been GREAT! As far as the bus is concerned? I didn't have these brand new leather seats and nice ice cold water in a cooler AND headsets for the TV for the passengers like C&J Trailways has for them now; as you step onboard each day! Either option works AND just think? Less wear and tear on your car! I take the "Logan Express" down to Logan frequently and it's been terrific!

Go for it!! Go ahead, move to the state of New Hampshire and Live Free Or Die like the Rest of Us Cronies Up Here! You'll Never Regret It!
