My husband will try to get a transfer to the Vetern's Admin Hospital in Philadelphia. We were thinking of relocating to the suberbs of Philly but are open to areas in NJ that are within 30 minutes from the VA Hospital and the city of Philadelphia. We also need to be able to commute to NYC in less than 31/2 hours. We are looking for a newer home in the price range of $325,000 to $425,000. We prefer a nice neighborhood with good schools for our kids and close to shopping and restaurants.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Linda

You might want to look into Burlington County (Marlton, Mt. Laurel and others) They are not far from the bridges to Philly and you are minutes from the NJ Turnpike to NYC. It's roughly 2-2.5 hours into the city give or take the traffic. You can also look into taking the train too.

I can highly recommend Mount Laurel, NJ. Excellent school system. Home prices Range from $250k and up depending on the age of the home. Commute to Philly via the bridges or PATCO rail trainsit line is a breeze. Mount Laurel is also not as crowded as the surrounding areas like Cherry Hill, or Maple Shade...plus the taxes are lower. Crime....what crime???
