you will be hard pressed to find any decent apartment rentals for under $400 in any state, much less any part of New Jersey. i'm living in a little rock suburb right now in a crappy little apartment and paying $485. lol.
Also, if I could get any type of information/ideas/suggestions as to some work for cash that is also safe/legal anywhere in South Jersey, as well, it'd be a great help. The situation is critical and there's been no luck so far and little time left to find anything, so any help would be highly appreciated. Thank you very much for your time.
Just curious, why are you looking for under the table work?

You need to dial 211. That is the hotline for the Local Health and Human Services Connection. It is a consolidated hotline that can connect you with various programs and support services that can help you throughout the region. Give them a call, explain the situation and they can connect you to people that can actually help. Best of luck.
Why do you need a cash job. Are you on some kind of assistance that we tax payers are paying for? And if you want a cash job, why don't you give up your free hand out and get a regular job. If you can work under the table you can work legal.
One of the least expensive ways to get housing of some sort ... better than being homeless or living in a car ... there are "rooms for rent" for $70 a week here in Philly. Not an apartment - just a room. Check the newspapers - especially the Philadelphia Daily News. However these places are not in the better parts of town, more than likely in Kensington.
