Hi everyone,
I know that a car is a necessity for people living in South Jersey. So PLEASE don't respond just to tell me that.
My question is this: does anyone know of van service, shuttle service, recreational carpooling, etc. in the Burlington Township area?
My friend is in Burlington Township and her 60-something mother is in a neighboring town. While her mom can get someone to take her to get groceries and what not, she is basically at the mercy of her grown children who all work in NYC and have busy lives. I was hoping to suggest something so that her mother can do more recreationally. She has a knee injury that keeps her from driving. Even a local church that has van service on Sundays would be helpful. I thought surely there must be others in similar situations.
Thank you!

I think she could meet the requirements for Access Link and the RSVP looks like they have something to which she can contribute. I really appreciate your help

My neighbor volunteers (I'm in camden county) to drive Seniors around to appointments etc. So there are volunteer services out there.

There are a lot of different services.
Popular Services such as meals on wheels
Burlington County office of aging
What other help will she need? I know a gal that sub-teaches at a school that does odd jobs
There is also this site to find house help

Lucy, I don't have a car and I've managed well.
The only difference is I don't live in Burlington County. If you ever move to areas closer to Philly, the transportation is pretty good. Between NJ transit and PATCO, I've managed pretty well!
