Does anyone know of an upcoming 9/11 remembrance ceremony worth mentioning? I know Cherry Hill is doing something small as I'm sure most local towns are, but maybe you know of something extra special? I am originally from North Jersey and 9/11 will always be near and dear to my heart. I simply cannot believe that ten years have passed by already.
Is Philadelphia doing anything?
On a similar note, has anyone seen any of the Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero documentaries on Discovery? I HIGHLY recommend watching them. They don't dwell on the tragedy, but are all about the rebirth of lower Manhattan and the resilient spirit of those affected by the events, many of whom are now working on the construction of these projects. The scope of construction there is simply awesome with a new skyscraper, transit hub, and memorial, as well as other fairly large building projects. Check them out. Thursdays, I think.

Thanks for reminding me! My son broke a tooth and is having dental surgery tomorrow so I have been preoccupied. I would really like to attend a ceremony in honor of those who died, served.

I missed it the first week it came out, but I hear it was really well done. I worked down there (I do bids/RFPs) and am still involved on the periphery, but the project is pretty fascinating. I'm so glad they did the Rising show, because if I heard one more person say, "Are they ever going to build anything there?" I would have smacked them. Construction's been going on since 2005. It's a very complex project, or rather an intertwined group of projects, on a 16-acre, 60-foot deep site in a former riverbed in an urban setting. Some people seem to think it's just a matter of putting up a new building.
I am not sure about memorials in your area, but they must be listed on a website, maybe on that of your local press? A lot of towns have their own memorials.

Good links have already been posted. I know most towns are having a ceremony and a lot of churches are having rememberance services.
On the topic of documentaries I highly recommend Nat Geo's interview with GW Bush about the events of 9/11. Like Bush or hate him, the interview is an eye opener not only into the events of 9/11 but into Bush personally who has had quite a bit of a change in public opinion about him since leaving the Presidency.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think we are going to stay local and attend Cherry Hill's new memorial dedication at 8 am....If our two little ones cooperate! I also heard that Haddonfield HS is putting out a small flag for each person that died on 9/11 on their front lawn. That would be a sight to see too.
BTW, Rising was not on this Thursday. They are replaying all of them on Sunday. Though, I have a hunch that Eagles football will be the hot thing on TV for most around here...
