Hi,
I hope you can help me. We have just moved from Hoboken to Guttenberg.
My husband's work is Newark.
Today was the first time he drove to work. He left at 7:00am and arrived to his work at 9:00am. I'm not kidding, it took him 2 hours. He used the suggested route on his GPS and Google maps. He used the following roads 495, 95, 280.
Does anybody know a route from Guttenberg to Newark and back that shortens this ride significantly?
Any advice will be very appreciated. We understand that the commute should be longer now from Guttenberg to Newark verses Hoboken-Guttenberg, but we really hope that it's not going to take now 2 hours each way.
Your husband could take mass transit provided he works downtown near Penn Station. Park at the Tonnelle Ave. light rail station(or take a bus down to the light rail station), take a West Side Ave. train to Exchange Place, take the PATH to Newark and go from there.
