Default Scam??

I've been getting calls from energy suppliers that work with my electric company (JCPL). Does anyone know what the deal is with them?

The two that I have spoken with are Reliance (that offers a 10.98 cent per kilowatt hour) and Commerce Energy (that offers 8.75 cent per kilowatt hour). I can't find any useful reviews on these two companies and was wondering if anyone here has had any dealings with them.?

I posted this link before, but this is the NJ Board of Public Utilities site that has information on the alternative suppliers:

Board of Public Utilities | Commercial<br />Customers

At the bottom of that page, you click on your current utility provider and then it will give you a list of the current alternatives that serve those areas and what they offer in terms of service as well as their contact information.

Here is the link for JCPL:
http://www.nj.gov/bpu/pdf/energy/sho...lterritory.pdf

"Reliant" energy was listed, which I am assuming is the "Reliance" from your post, but "Commerce" wasn't, the list is updated as of 4/25/12.

If you are considering it, read the contract carefully and do your homework and I personally wouldn't consider a supplier that wasn't on the lists I linked above.
