Can anyone tell me who the Mayor was of Pemberton-Township New Jersey around 1978-1979......I just met this guy who said his father was.....I'm not sure I believe him.....I've found no proof.

It's hard to find lists of mayors online for small towns. You could easily contact the Burlington County Cerks office and they could tell you or you could just call Pemberton Township and ask them.

They did have a mayor back in the late 80s/early '90s named Washington Georgia.

I stumbled across it while searching for something else.

I have been a Marylander since 1995, however I can add some insight:

I moved to Browns Mills, NJ in 1977 in Pemberton Township. The mayor was a man named Washington Georgia. His house was on an island on Mirror Lake with a wooden bridge for access. At one time it burned...

The island is called Lovelady's Island. His house was the only one there.

If you've ever seen those tractor trailers parked in a lot on Rt. 38 for Father And Son's Moving and Storage, that was (is?) his company.
