That home is so darn nice I would live with the septic system . We had one growing up and everything went okay in the 20 or so years we were there.

I'd be scared it would back up! But I guess that's what a lot of properties with a lot of land have.

I've lived in North Jersey (Hawthorne & Parsippany) while I worked in Ridgewood. The traffic and pace of life are far worse in North Jersey. And, people up in Northern NJ, generally speaking, are more impatient and less courteous. You will find that you will have to decompress from the underlying level of stress that pervades Northern NJ. It will take you some time.

I don't mean to offend my nothern New Jersey residents, but NNJ is the worst place I've lived in my life and I've lived in many locations including Suffolk County, Long Island, Hartford, CT, Davis, CA, Athens, GA, Northern Virginia, and both South and North Jersey.

If you wish to avoid a NNJ traffic feel, then stay about 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia. If you want proximity to Rowan, then aim for Mullica Hill. The school district (Clearview Regional) is a good one.

Other towns not mentioned include Moorestown and Cherry Hill. Cherry Hill is your standard Levittown-like community and you'll get decent schools but no real sense of community. Some housing stock is upper end, but the real estae taxes are high because the town is located in Camden County and neighboring towns to Camden basically pick up the tab on everything in the City. If you head toward Haddonfield, the town is cute, housing (actually real estate taxes) are high, and the roads outside of the township borders on the main highways (Rte 70) can become congested.

North Jersey worse, ruder, and more congested than Long Island?

Question Medford in trouble?

I'm considering a move to the Burlington County area. When I mentioned I was interested in Medford to someone they said...be careful...Medford is in big trouble. I'm not sure if they meant corruption or budget or what. Can anyone enlighten me?

I don't think you'll be disappointed. That whole area of Gloucester County is nice and is also growing, meaning there are more amenities being added all the time.

Mullica Hill was your top choice. What changed your mind?

The area in Turnersville where I purchased my vehicle was congested with traffic, but not sure of the surrounding area.
