Will be owned by the Ravitz family which also owns five Shop Rites and plans to open another Shop Rite in Camden in 2016.
Should be good for Camden. I did a lot of shopping at a Price Rite when I was in college and thought it was great. No frills obviously and a limited selection, but the prices were great even on name brand items.
I thought all retailers had left Camden because of safety concerns. Other than all the security related and shop lifting issues, opening a discount store in Camden seems like a great idea: guaranteed income from food stamps.
I think it is wonderful they opened a Price Rite in Camden; the Price Rite close to where I live does a fantastic business. I also appreciate that Shop Rite and Price Rite feature locally grown produce.
The new Price Rite along with the beautiful new Salvation Army Kroc Center is an indication Camden is turning around. In addition, the demolition of abandoned houses (and known drug houses) was welcomed by the long time residents of the area.
