My family (wife, 3 kids age 2,5,9) will be moving to the Philly area soon. We are looking at rentals next weekend. On the New Jersey side we have found potential properties that are located in either Carusi or Rohrer middle school areas. It is difficult to get a sense of their quality. For instance, according to school digger, Rohrer took a huge drop in test scores over the last two years. Can anyone share their insight into either of these schools? Thanks!

P.S. These are the only two middle schools in NJ where we found properties that met our other criteria. Will be comparing these to homes which are not quiet as nice, but in the main line suburbs.

Carusi is in Cherry Hill. Rohrer is in Westmont, which is the bulk of Haddon Twp. Cherry Hill always seems to have this top rated reputation for the school system, but Haddon Township schools are also supposed to be very good, but it is an older area, has more roots etc. I would say you really couldn't go wrong in either area, so it depends what you are looking for in terms of the layout of the town. CH is huge, very strip-mally and car-dependent whereas Westmont is much smaller thus you will have more one-on-one attention in the schools, though there is probably the usual drama that comes with small towns. It is also more pedestrian-friendly, situated between Haddonfield and Collingswood, on the PATCO speedline.

Carusi has significant Cherry Hill funding and a great school system but agreed with above the area is very congested.
Westmont/Haddon Twp. is certainly more family friendly with a smaller town feel.
You will likely find that you end up knowing your neighbors and have children in the same age demographic.
Haddon Twp has alot to offer based on whatever your budget might be able to afford.
I can't really comment on the Main Line area as I really have only drove through and know a few families that live there.
Very nice and very pricey!
