Now don't get me wrong, I'm only an EO resident for about a few months, but I've spoken to a few Real estate guys who own big time properties in this area, and they are planning something major to revitalize this town!

In my building, we don't have people walking in and out with their pants hanging off their asses. People that live here work EVERY DAY! Young and Old, Black and White. Now this is a bit out of my range, but I had to decide how I wanted to live, being that I am now a NJ resident. In a dump is not it! EO may not be as it was decades ago, but once you pass that Border into Newark, one can quickly tell the difference that they have just entered a dump! Look @ the people!
Funny, because near my building and up and down Central Avenue(into Orange) there's folks with pants hanging down all the time. Thugs hanging outside chicken shacks or Chinese joints. And they're half naked too. If this place was as great as you make it I wouldn't be so desperate to move out.

Sorry, but Forest Hill is comparable to the nicest part of East Orange(north of Springdale, Woodlands area, Glen Ridge border), if not better. I know this.

Give it time. Also there was a homicide a couple blocks away from where you live recently. Also witnessed a purse snatching on a Sunday Morning at Central and Harrison before security got him.

Either they've been smoking crack or shooting heroin (Newark has been THE heroin capital of America a few years running now) or they're too dumbed down by the **** poor schools here (not 1 public HS in the city ranked in the top 75% of HS in Jersey).

It's an okay place if you're a single college student on a budget but you'd have to be dumber than rocks to want to raise a family here.
I live here to and you do not know what you are talking about, do us Newarker who are proud of are city a favor and move somewhere else.

It's "our city", not "are city". I guess that validates the comments about the poor school system.......
