It's looking like I'll be using the North Branch station to get to Manhattan everyday for work. Am I in for a painful commute everyday? Any recommendations for a new comer to NJ?

Northeast NJ bergen and essex counties near NJT bus #194 hunterdon has NO TRANSIT WHATSOEVER!!!! Rail pass however works on NJT buses and all light rail lines at no extra charge.

What part of Manhattan? That line uses Double Deckers which are comfortable and modern so it should be that bad....
You need to Switch in Newark to the Northeast Corridor , they usually put you on the same platform in the Morning. But in the Afternoon you have to switch and go downstairs to the concourse....and go to the other track. Raritan Valley Trains are always parked on Track 5. Its worth grabbing a bit to eat downstairs at one of the many shops , on the side corridor there is a popcorn stand that is worth a trip. Once you reach NYC your going to switch and take the Subway(IRT 1,2,3)up to Times SQ which takes 10 mins form Penn to Times SQ
I was just wondering, at the Hackensack new bridge landing station, WHERE do I pay for the daily parking? Not the permit parking, but the daily parking spots that you don't need a permit for you just park there and pay when you need it. I bought a train ticket from the machine and there was no option to print out a parking ticket. I looked around and I'm pretty sure I didn't see any other boxes or machines. Apparently there's a slot box somewhere? When I pay, to I get a ticket thingy I hang from my windshield mirror? What's the deal?
