I have noticed how quickly they are getting the Bayonne Crossings shopping center built in Bayonne. It was like a month ago there were no vertical structures, but now there are a couple buildings almost complete. A few weeks ago I was saying to my fiance there is no way they will finish that this year, but now I am eating my words. It's not just that either there are several prjects rolling in Bayonne that I have seen or read about. It made me wonder why are the projects that are taking place in Bayonne and Jersey City being bulit so quickly while the projects that have been planned in Harrison(other than the stadium)are either not being built at all or are moving extremely slow despite being planned way before Bayonne and JC's plans(at least I think they were). Does anybody know why? Is it becuase of a Private funding/Public funding thing? Or maybe the returns expected are higher in Bayonne than Harrison?

It's the new development down the Hook.

Man -- we move to Florida, they get a Lowe's, a Wal-mart, a steakhouse. Figures.

I'm want to see how wal-mart is going to effect broadway. This is going to either be really good or really bad.

What's left on Broadway any more? Wal-Mart will hurt the dollar stores, for sure, but if it's not a Super Wal-Mart, the supermarkets will be okay. And even them, WM's grocery selection isn't that deep. Their cold cuts are iffy, and so is their produce.

I wish they would do the Harrison projects faster , it makes us look bad. With the New Stadium and all. The Stadium is surrounding by abandoned buildings and other crap. I beleave the Red Bulls own the land around the stadium i don't why they can't just tear down those buildings....

The Riverbend redevelopment project is humongous. They have delayed the project because it is not wise to invest such a huge amount of money in the midst of an economic crisis. It's still going to get built, they are just trying to ride out the storm a little.
All of the horizontal infrastructure is complete & I've heard they are going to start vertical construction by the end of the year, but who knows.

It might be relared to the fact that some of the land in a Harrison was dangerous and had to be rehabilitated.

What a difference 7 years makes. Harrison is going gangbusters and Bayonne is lagging.
