Hello all! My husband and I will be relocating from Buffalo, NY to NJ (Piscataway area) in a couple of weeks and I and looking to see what are the internet and cable/satellite service providers are offered in the area. We currently have Time Warner Cable (internet and cable bundle) but I am really not happy with them so I am looking forward to not giving them anymore of my money! That being said, I am interested in the best deal...possibly another bundle with internet and cable/satellite if possible. But there is one catch (and please don't fault me for this) I am a HUGE Bills fan and would need to be able to watch all my teams games. I know Direct TV offers NFL Sunday Ticket, but that looks like I have to have the Premier package in order to have Sunday Ticket, which looks very pricey. Can anyone help me out?

I don't watch much TV at all except at work, for internet I just get a Verizon DSL, about $20 to $30 a month. TV I get about 35 digital channels free over the air which I never have time for anyway.

As far as pay TV providers there is usually one cable outfit that has the local area, then in very many places you can get Verizon Fios, then you have the choice of the other VSAT satellite TV providers like Dish, Direct TV or whatever that third one is called, the folks who uplink from Dry Creek, Colorado, etc.

You need to first find out what is available in your area, then make your decision. Time Warner is horrible. I suggest get DirecTV for TV and get either FIOS or Cable for internet. Phone, I use magicJack.

I'm thinking of magic Jack for phone too, I almost never use the Verizon landline, its about $16 a month plus close to another $10 on taxes and gov't fees. You can still keep a Verizon DSL using the same circuit as a "dry line" and I heard that knocks the taxes off (shhhh), lol. Most of my calls, people call me on the cell phone anyway. The landline is very seldom used.

There is no $16 month plan from verizon that includes long distance. I use the land line once home from work and weekends. I pay $19/year for magic jack. I also get voicemail messages sent to my email address (time warner didnt even offer that for their $49 phone plan)

I use some other long distance provider, think its called Pioneer, that provides long distance at a few pennies per month. Depends on usage but the charges are fractions of pennies often.
