People often ask about which NJ town has the best downtown area so I thought it would be neat to have a thread with downtown pics from various towns around NJ. Add 'em if you got 'em.

Default Downtown

Westfield has the best downtown area even better that Summit or Millburn.

I can't wait to make my own contributions to this thread in the upcoming weeks. I've snapped about 30 photo tours here in PA and one in NY, and I want to soon do my first in NJ. I'm thinking of doing a photo tour of Hackettstown, Hope, or Newton. Stay tuned.

If you decide to do Hackettstown, I'd focus more on some of the gorgeous victorian houses which start 1 block south of Main Street (towards Centenary College). Some of them are really, really beautiful - and surprisingly reasonably priced, but you have to live there .

I don't think Hackettstown's Main Street is all "that". Ditto Newton, but that town, like Hackettstown, does have old victorians as well. Have fun!

Real interesting thread! Offhand, I'd say Ridgewood, Newton, and Morristown have the coolest downtowns. But, my favorite is Lambertsville.

Newton? Really! I was just there today. Do you mean that square on 206 and that little stretch of road that leads to Sparta? It's ok, but coolest??? Not by a mile!

Bayonne actually has a very large "downtown" (I called it uptown since I lived south of it) - it's not the "coolest", but they are doing a lot of work to spruce it up and looks a hell of a lot better than 20 years ago.
