Does anyone have good recommendations for Vision Therapy? My daughter has exotropia and I need to find a good place for Vision Therapy. We live in Livingston.
Check out St. Barnabus Medical Center to see if they can refer to an occupational therapist who specializes in vision therapy. I'm sure they would know someone in the area.
can't comment on whether he is good, but my kid told me it helped.
Have you considered checking with the pediatrician?
BTW, my kid's pediatrician does not believe in vision therapy.
A lot of people don't believe in VT. Most of them are eye surgeons who believe going in and cutting is the only way to fix a problem. I suggest at least giving it a try. I did it 4 times a week for a bit over 2 years (considered very intensive by VT standards), but it was totally worth it. It helped me make the most of my vision for another 5 years or so. By the way, I also went to VT for exotropia, in addition to other issues and my case was considered a successful one. Sorry I can't recommend a specific vision therapist. My vision therapist was in Maryland.
