I recently accepted a new position and need to make a move up north from central jersey.

I have narrowed my search to Morris Plains, New Providence, North Plainfield, and Somerville/Bridgewater.

Anyone have any information on what the commute would be figure leaving around 7am. Would the commute be horrible coming up 287 from Bridgewater?

Also based on my search so far I am going to assume that finding a 1br in a nice area for less than 1100 is not going to happen. Thanks for the help.

You should be able to find a 1 bed apt at The Mountain Club on Rt 10 on the Morris Plains / Parsippany border for about a grand a month. Commute to East Hanover would be a breeze.

I am looking there on Monday, rent for a 1BR starts at 1195 though.

Too expensive for the Mountain Club. You can easily get a 1 bedroom apt in Parsippany or Boonton for under $1k. Both will be an easy commute to East Hanover.
