Hello! I'm wondering if there are any good credit unions that one can join in NJ that do not require you to be a member of some company or union? I live in the Edison area, and haven't found any so far. I am a truck driver, (and a teamster,) but my company does not belong to any credit union. I had some credit problems a few years ago,and I'd like to start rebuilding my credit.
Thanks, in advance!

I don't believe XCel Federal Credit Union (Jersey City) requires affiliation to a company anymore. They USED to be the Port Authority Federal CU, but chnaged the name (and I THINK, their rules) several years ago.

I've heard that some credit unions are leery of people with credit problems, but you can still try!
