It depends. Usually some small downtown. Montclair, JC, or Morristown. Then there is the shore. Local parks (Liberty State is great), and sometimes I hit up the city for more action.

I love flea markets. There are a zillion little ones everywhere; the bigger ones I go to are in Columbus (Burlington County), Englishtown (Middlesex County), and Collinswood (Monmouth County). I like to take drives down county roads and enjoy the scenery (driving through the Millstone or Cream Ridge areas of Monmouth County). If I feel like walking and enjoying scenery, I go to the Delaware Canal (Mercer County), Sayen Gardens in Hamilton (Mercer County), or Washington Crossing State Park (Mercer County). Washington Crossing also has open-air theater shows in the summer, which are wonderful. I rollerblade sometimes at Mercer County Park. My husband and I go to the movies about once a month at the AMC Theater in Hamilton.
