Default parking comparision between edison, jersey avenue and Dunellen train station

Hi,

I would be moving to New Jersey from Connecticut soon. I am looking for apartments in Middlesex county
And would be commuting by train to Newark Penn Station everyday.

I would like to know in terms of comparision between edison, jersey
avenue and Dunellen train station
where can I find parking easily in the morning between 7:30 AM and
8:30 AM. If private lots have parking available near the station,
That would work too.

I am looking for your expert opinion.

Thanks.

I can only speak for Jersey Ave. It's got a 2-Year waiting list for monthly permits, but it DOES have daily spaces available at the back of the lot across the street from the station. The daily rate is $6.00. Monthly permits are $180/Quarter.

If you want to look some of this stuff up yourself, NJ Transit has a great web page at New Jersey Transit

You can also go to MetroPark and get a monthly pass with almost no wait.

As Rob said, Metropark is the best solution- Jersey Ave, Edison, and Dunellen have a fraction of the available parking. I've never seen the lots at Metropark overflow, even on snow days when many additional people take the train instead of driving.

+1 metropark. Huge parking garage at Metropark whereas the other lots have limited space if any at all after 7:30am

First of all find an apartment close to the station you plan on using. It makes no sense to live near Dunellen and drive to Metro park. or to drive to Dunellen from East Brunswick.
The roads in Middlesex county are crowded so it is important to live close to your job or transportation. If you don't mind spending 90 min. to get to work then it doesn't really matter where you live.

Good luck.

Daily parking is easily available at Metropark but there is about a 6 month wait for a monthly pass.

I park about 1/2 to 3/4 of a mile south of the dunellen train station on W 4th or W 5th. Never have a problem and it's free. A lot of people are lazy slobs and are afraid to walk 15 minutes in the morning.
