Default Areas around Weehawken

Hi!

I'm going to be new to New Jersey, and america for that matter. And I have work at Weehawken. So I'm looking for a place around the area. I'm in my 20s too.

I was thinking I'd go for Union City (Palisades), Weehawken and Hoboken.
Does anyone have any comments on the safety or general environment in these areas. I don't mind multi-ethnic communities.

Thank You!

Hoboken would be great, though you'd almost be paying NYC rents. Perfect scene for 20-somethings--bars, restaurants galore.

Port Imperial is also outstanding, so you might also check out the apartments down there. The area has really grown quickly. I lived at Riverbend at Port Imperial for a couple years before buying a house. The address is technically West New York for those buildings, but it is definitely nothing like West New York.
