I just think it boils down to people work/school all day
You have family, chores, social obligations in the evenings so trying to make time to meet virtual strangers is low on the priority list.
In all seriousness though, I think many people who post on message boards prefer to keep the anonymity of online interaction. I have met individuals who I had initially interacted with online, and then met one on one, but a group thing could be weird for some people. I think alcohol would definitely need to be involved
Indeed........................ The interwebs are completely detached from my real life. Way too creepy for me. I enjoy discussing urban NJ's redevelopment, issues & current topics with knowledgeable people (at least some of you). My friends are not as engaged in these topics as I am, so this becomes an outlet. However, that is where it ends. Life is complicated enough without having to manage complete strangers I've met on C-D.
