Does anybody have any commuting experience from Fairfield, nj to Jersey City? Just curious what route you take and how long it typically takes. I plan on leaving around 7-8 in the morning and head back home between 4-5pm.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Rob

When I was a kid on summer vacation I used to drive an ice cream truck that way every day for a while.
That was way before 280 was built also.
Looks like I used to take option 3 of these, but here's a quick start with 3 various choices:
If you mouse down under Driving Directions 3 different options appear, me, I'd go for #1 or #3 or also explore getting on I-280. You can do that by dragging the blue line over to it various ways.

280 is a mess between 6-8am , huge jams form the Oranges East , then the 1/9 area of JC is a miss moss of traffic and construction. You should try taking the Boonton line form Wayne/Route 23 Transit Center to Hoboken Terminal and i'm assuming you work on the Waterfront then you grab the Light Rail in Hoboken Terminal and take that down to Exchange Place.
