Damn that is really harsh! Do you know all of the students that graduated from high schools in Rahway personally? Why would you make such a statement?

Like any other town there are great areas and not so good areas and this has the same.
Rahway is in a great location where it is not only accessible via Routes 1 & 9, but also the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike and it also has a train station that puts you right into Newark or New York (right under Madison Square Garden). It's also about 1/2 hour cars ride to the Jersey shore or you can always take the train. Rahway has also more recently been written up in the NY Times and various local papers for it's revival and is currently being touted as the next Hoboken. There is a wonderful park with a lake and other activities, great shopping and many tree line streets. As for children, there are many recreational sport activities and let's not forget the Rahway Arts Guild and Union County Arts Center, Senior Center, Rec Center, brand new Library and continuous updates to Downtown Rahway.
Here in Rahway neighbors know each other by name and watch out for one another's children. I've lived in many areas growing up in New Jersey and New York and I can't say that about any other township or city.

I have to applaud you for this post! I can’t believe the sense of security I feel in Rahway (I am originally from NYC) my neighbors are so nice and they all know each other. I don’t know much about the school system. However I can not believe that all of the students and teachers of Rahway are not dedicated to education. For anyone to make such a blanket statement is ignorant.

you said it yourself, I don’t know much about the school system.
when you do become more familiar with what goes on, then you'd be qualified to make judgements, right now you're just making comments based on ignorance

Wow this thread has really turned into a thing.
My $0.02: Parts of Rahway are ok, but I would recommend Clark right next door instead.

You know what Kort; I am ignorant in the sense that I do not know everything about Rahway. I do know that it is not the jungle everyone has proclaimed it to be. I moved here from NY, and believe me I know tough when I see it and this slow town just isn’t it! However you are entitled to your opinion, and I think you can say what ever it is you feel…no matter how much I disagree.

I was born in Rahway and still frequent Rahway. I wouldn't recommend buying there. I think taxes are very high and I DO NOT trust the local Government. I know this isn't a political forum but Rahway is a hopelessly Democrat Town in a Democrat County within a Democrat State. .Many feel that the Mayor is corrupt and he'll be in power until he dies of old age.In a nutshell- lots of liberal philosophy--make the others pay so I can receive--they're also big believers of eminent domain. They'll steamroll you if they want your property. Downtown is being revitalized but there's still nothing to do there nor is it safe after dark.Schools are substandard. It's always been an odd looking town with evidence of years of neglectful zoning. I also believe crime is on the rise there.

Great liberal thinking Collin, It's not the thieves fault for stealing your radio it's your fault for not locking your car. As far as your "multicultural" description--the more multicultural Rahway gets, the higher the crime problem-just an observation on my part.
