What is the parking situation in Hamilton? Is any type of permit required? cost? availability? Also, what is the average commute time to Penn Station from Hamilton? Thanks.

There is both permit and daily/hourly parking. The permit parking is difficult to obtain, there was a waiting list last time I checked about a year ago. The daily parking filled up by about 6am (again a year ago) but they opened up a huge new parking garage so that may have changed things. Look here for more info TMA-transit (http://www.gmtma.org/hampark.htm - broken link)

Parking was a huge problem before they built a new garage. Its $5 for the day and I havent seen any problems with getting a space with the new garage.

Im not sure about monthly parking rates but I know they give you a deal if you buy the monthly pass.

Plenty of daily parking available for $5 for 12 hours and $7 beyond that. You can get a monthly permit with no reserved parking space (you park in the new garage along with daily) for $105.

If you park in the parking garage, you can park as long as you wish.
It is $9.00 per day, pay when you leave-

$105 for the month? Wow, makes MetroPark look like a bargain at $65 a month. Factor in the more expensive monthly train ticket and you better be pulling down some serious coin to commute to NYC from Hamilton.

What highway robbery.
