True. I tried to leave the state too. I should have moved down to FL, but for some reason, my wife convinced me to stay up here. She used to love her jobs so much but now hated it. If this was the case before we start looking, we could have bought down in FL, and able to live comfortably with just 1 income.

[quote=TechGromit;16987602]Wow $4,200 sounds awfully high for a condo. I pay $7,000 in Galloway, NJ, but I have a 3,300 sq ft house, 3 car garage, full basement and 2 1/2 acres of land.

Probably because you are way down in South Jersey where it's cheaper. And I moved south to Monmouth County because I couldn't afford where I used to live in Bergen County but still had to commute to NYC. I looked at a three-bedroom cape, no basement, on a quarter acre of property in my hometown up there three years ago, and the taxes were $7300.

I have no idea why anyone things that Florida is a utopia. the taxes have gone up and the housing market is probably one of the worse in the country. the only upside would be to buy a second home as the asking prices are in the dumps.
