Default Please do not take this wrong, but Newark is creepy!!

I go to NewarkPenn everyday to get the train home and its gross. The surrounding area too is full of graffetti. Anytime you see DETOX THE GHETTO sprayed across a building you have to ask yourself what is going on here. Thet have some nice townhomes, but the majority have bars in the windows. There is a lot of gang violence there as well. Nevermind the junkies I pass from time to time. To each his own. I can only hope that cities like Newark, Asbury Park, Camden and Atlantic city clean up. Its a pity what has happened. I hope for your sake, that Newark does come around. May you be one of the lucky ones.

I'm from Newark, NJ, born and raised. Its really not as bad as people make it seem. I wouldn't have my city any other way. There is a lot of gang violence everywhere. If you didn't want the pros and cons of living in an urban area. If you don't want to live in the innercity then dont buy a house or an apartment there, go to the suburbs and live there. I love my city, and when I finish with school, I'm going to go back there.

Where did you live. If you love Newark, Ironbound perhaps! My bet is you didn't live up on the hill or out in the west district. If so I don't think you would be in a hurry to get back to those neighborhoods (the hill and west side). I also find it odd that you would make a statement like "I wouldn't have my city any other way" does that include the innocent bystanders getting shot in drive by shootings or just happen to be walking along and get caught up in all the gang B.S. Or all the dirt bags dealing dope that goes on in the "Renaissance City". I hope the school you go to isn't state funded because if it is MY tax payer dollars are not being very well served if thats what they are teaching. If your in college I would venture to guess that I've been working in your city before you were born. There is nothing you can tell me about Newark that I don't know. By the way there is no gang violence in my town so it's not everywhere. Lastly who are you to dictate where people should live. Don't you think that if a good majority of people that live in Newark could afford the suburbs they would get out in a second. Unfortunately many good peolpe are trapped in a real bad situation. How about all the dope dealers and gang bangers move out and leave the city for the good hard working people. Don't they teach you that in school.

By the way to all that read this forum I have bad news. Camden has gone from the worst (most dangerous) city to live in (2 years running) to the 5th. worst. St. Louis is now number 1. I know that will break a lot of hearts of those that love to come to this forum and gang up on Camden. Oh well I guess you'll all have to move over to the ST. Louis forum to do your bashing. But then again maybe you won't be telling those people something they don't already know either.

Do not include WEST ORANGE in those oranges!! West Orange is still a very desirable, suburban essex county town!! Plenty to offer and some of the strictest property maintenance laws in the state and the most open space in essex county!! Very family oriented town with a low crime rate..give West Orange a break and don't pool it in with "the oranges" East Orange and Orange are terrible b ut West Orange is as nice as Verona, Caldwell, Montclair, etc...

Default Newark

Actually now that I thnk about, I actually feel bad for saying something negative. I am sure Newark has a lot of great places to live with so much to do. Unfortunetly I and many other commuters don't see that. See, that only goes to show you can;t judge a book by its cover. I did a little research about Newark and it looks really fun.

Yeah West Orange is great if you want to pay 12,000 a year taxes for a three bedroom house. All of the desirable areas in Essex county are way overtaxed and overpriced and not worth the money. But then again the whole **** state is overpriced and overtaxed!!!

Ain't is a word down here. Well, just want to let you

some folks that go to the church I pastor, and believe it or not, they're from Philly and like the Eagles. Guess what?
They fit in pretty good down here. Thanks for allowing me
