I agree Dover is not as bad as people make it out to be, they dont have the best schools and the downtown area doesnt appeal to everyone, but it does have a direct train route to NY and its central location.
I find it unfair to use a slice of pizza to compare parts on NJ being expensive. Cheese is the main reason why pizza costs go up and down, but mostly up, mozzarella is not cheap anymore. However 1.50 for a decent slice of new jersey pizza is still a great price, go anywhere in the city and the pizza doesnt taste as good and cost almost double.

Parts of Jersey City are nice, some not so nice. This is true of any city. Besides the downtown area, Jersey City still has a very high crime rate. According to the Morgan Quitno Ratings (which bases their figures on FBI statistics), Jersey City, I believe, is the 317th(or 54th) Most Dangerous City in America(This is out of 371 Cities, 371 being the most dangerous city in America, which at this time is St. Louis). So based on crime statistics, Jersey City has more crime per 1,000 people than both Paterson (ranked 261) and Elizabeth (ranked 258)

Also,according to Morgan Quitno, Camden (ranked 367) was the 5th most dangerous city in the country after several years of claiming the most dangerous city spot at 371. Trenton (ranked 358) was 14th most dangerous and Newark (ranked 350) was the 22nd most dangerous city in America.


With that, Brick was rank the safest city in America for 2007. Toms River came in at 14th, Hamilton was ranked 31st, and Edison Township was ranked 23rd in the safest cities category (again, 1 being the safest, 371 being the most dangerous).
