I have to find it laughable that you feel safe in Chicago, and not a city like Newark or Paterson.
Chicago has average 540 murders since 2000. I'm sure Newark or Paterson hasn't average that in 8 years combined If you look up the stats, Chitown is one of the most dangerous in the nation when it come to assults, and robbery. Living in NYC, this is the same type of mentality that many surburbanites walk around with saying "this is the safest big city in America!"; oblivious to the fact that crime is still a major issue.

If Jersey was sooo bad, why are people paying millions of dollars for their homes to live here? If Jersey was so bad, why do we have the BEST educational system??? Where in this country do you find so many intelligent people, such beautiful lawns and homes. In one weekend, I can be in New York City, go to the Pocono Mountains skiing, go to Philly, enjoy one of the many beautiful beaches lined with multi-million dollar homes for a hundred miles, go to amusement park, go to Atlantic City, go shopping at places that have every shop found on 5th avenue. What state has all of this??? I've visited 26 states, 14 countries, and there's no where that has this sort of accessibility. As for the factory areas, which service this nation, they are mainly lined parallel to the Jersey Turnpike. Any moron can see, that this is smart. So what the Turnpike isn't scenic??? That means that we are able to live in quiet communities AWAY for the highway and factories. DUH. As someone who grew up here, I got to say, people are dumb to believe all of those shotty tract houses they put up in an empty field is better than living in a community with strong cultural ties, wealth, and character. I think, if you are really observant, you'd be able to see that New Jersey is one of the few places in this countries, that truly protect the small business owner from being swallowed by the corporations that only offer mediocrity to communities. For living somewhere else for six years and COMING BACK, I can truly say there's no place like home. ALSO, as a African American, I believe the idea that an area to qualify as nice, be free of people of color, is ridiculous. That is what Some people think, and it doesn't have to be said to come across.

You people do realize that places like Camden, Newark, Paterson, Trenton, JC, AC, etc. aren't "towns", they are cities. So for the worst towns you have to consider Edison, Franklin, Maplewood, Pennsauken, Milville, etc.

This topic started almost 2 years ago. What's the point? It's not like there's a right or wrong answer.
I'll tell you where I don't feel safe at, but slight prejudices would be displayed and people would be offended. This topic goes on and on - it's like a never ending debate.
