Oh no a blizzard! Its the end of the world!
Attention: All those panicky Petes jamming up the local supermarkets, waiting on long lines for gas, and making a trek over to Home Depot, EVERYTHING IS GOING TO BE OK! You'll be snowed in 1 day max, YOU ARE NOT GOING TO RUN OUT OF FOOD! No need to buy 3 gallons a milk and enough canned goods to fill a fall out shelter. And you don't need to fill up your car! You aren't going anywhere anyways in the snow! And why do you need to buy a shovel? You don't have one from last year? Its not like it never snowed before in New Jersey!
Stay home, spend time with your family, relax and everything is gonna be alright!

LOL, I went to the supermarket early today because I needed cat food. Saw people with carts piled high, as if they weren't going to get out for days.
Then later I drove through the snow to Best Buy to get a camera. Hey, I NEED a camera--it's my first snowfall in my home! Was home before noon, and I'd already passed three accidents. No family to spend time with, since I dropped my daughter off at her dad's last night. Which means I'm trapped inside with the bag of chocolate pretzels all to myself! HAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAAA
It looks so cool outside--can't see any grass anymore.

Congrats on your new home! Yeah, not to get on another rant, but people don't know how to drive in the snow! Yeah you have a new 4 wheel drive SUV, but that doesn't mean you can speed and you are still going to slide in the snow when you brake too hard!

Stuff like that always blows my mind. I was in Playa del Carmen, Mexico with my pregnant wife during a category 5 hurricane and everyone was soo calm. The Sams Club was busy but people werent running around like chickens without heads like they do here. That crazy stuff is all caused by the media which plays situation like this up.

I have the pleasure of working today in this storm for business-critical needs and will be holed up in a hotel after work until late Monday. I'd much rather be relaxing at home but driving to work, I came across well over a dozen accidents.

I plan on heading to Lowes later on tonight when there's plenty of snow on the ground-by then the salt and $5 snow shovels will be completely gone and the place will likely be a ghost town-perfect time to shop for materials for my basement remodeling project which I'll be working on during the blizzard (thank god I have off until the 30th!). There's three days worth of firewood stacked on the back porch, the fridge is full of Sam Adams Winter Classics, the snowblower and generator are gassed up, and the wife and chocolate lab are asleep on the couch. Life is good...

Went to the hardware store this morning to buy non-snow related item. Apparently the entire town forgot to buy shovels and salt before this morning.

Apparently people throw out all snow shovels, snow blowers, and excess salt after every snow storm and immediately head to the hardware store to re-buy them. On the way home from the hardware store, people stock up on milk, bread, and eggs to make french toast!?

While driving home from North Jersey to Rutherford, DH and I passed by 5 accidents and saw 1 car towed away. It was only a 1/2 hour drive that started at 12pm. Do people forget how to drive when it's snowing?

It's not the end of the world I was just reminiscing w/ a friend in NYC about a blizzard I remember when I lived there in 1980....I was home, looking out the window...having a BLAST! (I was in my 20's) Now, I am in my 50's, living in the mountains, on a farm and I don't plan to pick a time like this to go out dancing!!!!! I never forgot how to drive in a blizzard....I just chose NOT to. I used to live in Fl and I chose NOT to go out on a boat during a hurricane.....is that so hard to understand???? Stay safe!
