We are basically selling most everything and moving. I normailly work in Human Resources as a Technical Recruiter so any help this board can provide would be a godsend. We are also looking into the afforable housing program.

Nothing is cheap here. You get a dump for 250k-!! Stay in Florida...You will be taxed to death on everything! My husband isn't thrilled with the state and cannot wait to leave one day!!

Why not move to Georgia? A good friend of mine lives in Peachtree and you get ALOT for your money! I want to move down there so badly lol..GORGEOUS homes that would cost 700-800k here in this state!! You can get a beautiful home there for 200-250k !!5 bedrooms, 3.5 baths!

Wow, you started this thread in 10/08! HR is tough to get into. I did recruiting back in NY and let me tell you it isn't easy to find a job here!!

My main complaint like many others that post here is and are the property tax burden that governors over the last 30 years promised to control and fix. None have aggressively tried because they all want to be re-elected. Like the just found 600 million to make the illusion of prop. tax relief just before an election for a select few. Go figure.

I did start this thread last October, but was waiting to finish school and for the summer break in order to plan my move. I thought that would make much more sense.

You are right, HR is hard to get into. It's all about who you know these days. I do have a few prospects when I get up there. I have been networking very heavily and have made a few really good contacts.

I did consider Atlanta, but I have no support system; like family, there to help us out while I am looking for a job, like I do in NYC/NJ. Atlanta is a nice and less expensive place. I also heard Texas is up and coming. Besides, my wife wants to be closer to family in NJ.

NJ is expensive compared to other states; but as I have learned the hard way, you get what you pay for!
