Currently have NJ Manufacturer's Insurance, and am wondering if any of you guys have found a company with lower insurance rates?

I priced USAA, and while they were lower on the Auto insurance, they were higher on homeowners insurance as they require you to carry wind & hail insurance.

Thank you!

check with the company you work for to see if they offer any discounts with any companies. I ended up with Liberty Mutual, they kicked the pants off MetLife, who destroyed Geico.

I shop my insurance around every 6-12 months. I don't believe i have access to NJM though, so I don't know how it compares to them.

But point is, always shop to find out. You never know what company's risk pool wants you badly...

Agree with Brady. I went with Allstate, which was half of what Geico was for Auto and Home. I've heard NJ manufacturers is also very good/cheap, but they have strict requirements for driving records.

At least where I am, I'd be very surprised if NJM could be beaten for home and auto. I have very good homeowners coverage, home is ~2700 sq ft not counting finished basement and I pay a little over $300/yr. Auto averages out to be about $650/car/yr.

Your employer or organization must be affiliated with them.

They are a phone/online operation. I found after losing multiple line discounts, they were not as cheap as many think. Any comparisons most be made for equal policies. When I signed up it was up to me to determine if the limits were high enough. They also do not automatically provide medical coverage for mva's unless specified. While that can lower premiums, finding out you don't have coverage after an incident isn't the time.

I now have Travelers, after MetLife for quite some time. MetLife was robbing me blind!!

I think I went on esurance and did one of those questionnaires to have multiple quotes sent to me and they came back the cheapest. I have shopped around recently and found them still to be the lowest.

Ask your human resource rep. I got it when I worked in the hospital. You also have to work for a company that is a manufacturer.

We moved out of state so lost NJM, but in the multiple years on it, we would get a check at the end of the year for $200, $300 because they are a non-profit company. Made only one claim for our home and had no problems.

It was cheaper than any other insurance out there at the time.

I'm on the fringe of the boonies, so that does help keep my rates low. I highly doubt I could find anything cheaper, I haven't looked though. I've had nothing but positive experiences with them WRT to claims, so I have no reason to change. Plus their dividend checks (which I got a few weeks ago) are sweet.
